The Restaurant & Accommodation
We are located in Alnwick town centre and operate as a Restaurant with letting rooms for the purpose of Bed & Breakfast.
The restaurant is generally open to the public from 9-10am through to 9pm (last orders) but may close earlier if days are quiet. Some Sundays we are closed but we are usually open Sundays during peak holiday times (e.g. school holidays, Christmas etc).
If you wish to check any opening times or wish to book a table in our restaurant, please just give us a call.

Free Wi-Fi access is available to guests.
We are child-friendly with a travel cot and bedding available for overnight stays and we have high chairs and a children’s menu in our restaurant.
Unfortunately no pets allowed (except guide or hearing dogs). However, if you wish to eat outside on our patio in the summer months, we don’t mind providing a water bowl for your dog!
The Restaurant is on the ground floor and has a central entrance door with one step and a side entrance for the purpose of disabled access to tables 12 and 14. This entrance can also be used by residents for access to their rooms if they do not wish to walk though the main Restaurant area.
There is one step in the middle of the Restaurant linking tables 12 and 14 to the remainder of the floor.
Waiter/Waitress service is provided if you wish to order food, as is a guide to bedrooms and the private car park.
There are disabled toilet facilities on the ground floor (access from the front side entrance, no steps to negotiate).
The letting bedrooms are on the first and second floors. They are accessed by stairs. There is no lift.
Room 1 is family room with 2 double beds, Room 2 is a double bedroom with sofa and Room 3 is a small single bedroom. These rooms are all on the first floor.
Room 4 is a double bedroom with additional sofa bed. Room 5 is a small double bedroom. These two rooms are on the second floor.
All rooms have en-suite shower rooms.
We have a private car park to the rear of the building. There is also a patio to the rear of the building for outdoor dining. There are one or two steps to negotiate if you access the rear of the building directly from the car park.

• Around 2 minutes walk to the tourist information office in ‘The Shambles’, Alnwick Market Place.
• We are very close to the town bus station (less than 5 minute walk)
• Only 1 minute walk to central banks, shops, newsagent
• Post Office around 5 minute walk
• 2 minute walk to Alnwick market place (Saturday markets with a Farmers market the last Friday of every month)

• We are the closest accommodation to the town centre access to Alnwick Castle & Gardens

Most of the town centre is on the flat although there is a slightly graduated slope to walk to the bus station or to the library.
It is possible to take wheelchair access from our premises to the main shops and businesses without having to negotiate large pavement kerbstones.
To walk from the main street in Alnwick (Bondgate Within) up to Market Street there are uneven medieval cobbles to cross which are on a slope.
‘Bondgate Without’ is the street to the outside of the Medieval Bondgate Tower. This is one of the old town gates which now acts as a traffic calming measure by only allowing a ‘one way at a time’ flow of vehicles.
On-street parking is available outside most of the shops and business in Bondgate Within for a small charge and is short stay. Longer stay is available on Greenwell Lane (2 minute walk to shops) or in our car park (for residents only).
Local Area
You can drive directly towards the Northumberland coastal route from Alnwick town centre. The nearest sandy beach is within approximately 4 miles and the coastal route covers many famous castles including Warkworth, Dunstanburgh, Bamburgh, and also Holy Island (Lindisfarne Castle).
Rothbury and Cragside House are approximately 12 miles west of Alnwick town centre.
The nearest large scale out of town shopping centre is the Metro Centre Gateshead (approx 40 miles south of Alnwick).
The nearest large scale in town (City) shopping centre is Newcastle Upon Tyne (approx 35 miles south of Alnwick)
A large sports and leisure centre is available on Willowburn Avenue (around 1 mile away). Facilities include adult and trainer pools, gym, sauna, health spa and other pre-arranged classes in the 6-court sports hall.
